Rob Sambles Photography | About
Hi I'm Rob, I would imagine you're here to look at photos, but in case you're interested, here's a little bit about me.

I live in Send in Surrey with my lovely wife Gemma and my stepson Connor, I was bought up in Cobham and I've lived in Surrey my whole life. I went to University in Roehampton, London and I studied Business. I've always been a keen sportsman and I still play basketball now (when my knees will allow me to!). Following my degree I decided to combine my business knowledge with my love of sports and fitness and moved onto a career with David Lloyd Health Clubs.

I've always been interested in photography and I've played around with cameras and creating images for many years, but in 2012 something amazing happened in my life...... I got married! As the cliché goes, it was the best day of my life thus far and I was thrilled to have Gemma become Mrs Sambles. Something else happened that day too, my love of photography was re ignited.

We were lucky enough to have a truly talented wedding photographer by the name of Tony Hart, I was really impressed watching Tony work and when we returned from our honeymoon, he presented us with some fantastic images. A couple of weeks after that, I got in touch with Tony to ask for some advice as I had decided to purchase a more serious camera and I figured he was the man to point me in the right direction.

An initial exchange of emails soon turned into a friendship and Tony was kind enough to share his vast experience with me, his mentoring and guidance was invaluable, he really helped me understand the difference between taking a photo and composing an image.

Nearly four years on, I'm photographing a number of sports, mostly focussed around U21 Premier League Football and BBL Basketball, but also Superleague Netball, Rugby and Motorsport at Brands Hatch. I've also covered various events including Motoring/Air shows, College Balls and Children's Birthdays.

Whether I'm shooting sports, portraits or an event, my aim is to bring it to life in a way that only a photograph can. I love the idea of freeze framing a single magic moment and creating something that enables it to be recorded forever.

Anyway, enough about me - have a look at some photos!
