The British Basketball League 2014/15 Season is starting next weekend! I'll be at my first game of the new season on Friday night with Surrey United hosting the London Lions.

2013/14 was my first season shooting the BBL, I've always been a basketball fan and I really enjoyed shooting the games. I had some success last year, with some of my shots being published online. I also went along to the BBL Playoff Finals to shoot for UK Basketball Magazine.

This year I will be working with Surrey United shooting their home games and I'll also be travelling up to the Copper Box in Olympic park to catch some of the London Lions games. The Copper Box in Stratford is a fantastic venue (as you would expect from an arena that was built for London 2012). The lighting is perfect for photography and the coloured seats create a nice background when I'm shooting with a shallow depth of field.

This year I'll be trying some new ideas. I'm going to try experimenting with remotes a bit more. I had some success last year with a wide angle remote based near the basketball at floor level. I'll be giving that another go this season and I'm also hoping to try a remote mounted behind the backboard glass. I'll document my attempts and any success right here!

In the meantime, here are some of my favourite images from last season.
